H&M has done a fantastic job in creating their brand. They have emphasized the social aspect to their Youtube channel, which in turn is a way they can advertise their products on the side. I loved watching their “Lanvin for H&M” and other designer appearances they have on their Youtube Channel.

Burberry hired artistic director Chris Bailey to create Burberry Acoustic, which is a collection of music videos filmed specifically for Burberry. Burberry has done a great job to integrate itself into other areas. However, they’ve started a cosmetic line, which, in my opinion, they’ve gone too far. Yes Chanel can get away with designing clothes and cosmetics, but for some reason, iconic burberry trench coats and cosmetics don’t seem to go together. Focus on what you’re good at, not taint your brand image by creating products (cosmetics) you’re not a leader in.
